You know, because of the camouflage.

Argyle Monkey

I must admit that I am a sucker for Argyle monkeys.  Especially the orange ones....though that mint one resembles my frade 8 graduation dress cerca 1989.

I hate Ham, but love Target

I hate ham.
No really....hate it.
I hate the smell, the taste, and the look (why is it so slimy?)
It is the one food that if I go to your house and you serve it, I can't be polite and eat it.  I am sorry.

Anyways.  I love Target!  It has taken me a week (stoopid broken leg) to get to the one that just opened in Ottawa but last night I made it. (OMGILOVEIT)  Some things are more expensive in Canada (ie socks) but I still managed to walk out of there with lots of stuff ...some of which I actually needed!  (eggs...I needed the eggs!)

Fast forward to Meeka checking out the socks, (why is the men's section better?) and I saw these socks.

I literally laughed out loud.

I actually couldn't help purchasing a pair because of the ironic-ness.  I  do apologize but I am probably going to have to have to charge more for these guys due to pain and suffering.  However, they will go quite nicely with the bacon socks I also have.

A monkey with with monkeys on itself.....?
That's just cray cray.

Monkey!

Seriously...how awesome are these Bard socks?  I made the mistake of only ordering one and then had to return to Modcloth to hook myself up with another pair.

I kinda want to keep the second pair to wear.

A rainy Queen West

A huge thank you to everyone who came out this weekend to a very wet Queen West Arts Crawl.  It was the wettest craft show that I have ever done!  It was also not the best place to discover that your tent was a little bit leaky.  But don't worry - as the picture below suggests, once dollar store plastic is added, not only does it make it waterproof, but it also makes your tent look a little like an oxygen tent!

This show I decided to take advantage of my space and bring two tables.
Wait...let me rephrase that.  Ren brought two tables.
I was pretty useless.
But I dig the new set up and the next time I have a large space like this (Sugar Plum Fair in November) I will make use of them again.

Look at all that mud on the ground...it was like Woodstock.  (I imagine)

Lookit all those monkeys in that suitcase!

Proof of rain.  But check out my sweet little drawbridge crossing the moat!

A valuable lesson was learned.  Walking casts?  Not waterproof.  And when you stand in a wet cast (which could be equated to a wet sponge) from 9am to 9pm...it tends to make your foot look like a giant white raisin.

And now you know.

*FYI - QWAC rocks.  I will be back next year.

New Look!

I have been contemplating changing my display at craft shows for some time now.  It has been looking the same for a couple of years now, and while this means that I can set it up in about 20 minutes, it does mean that I am getting a little bored.
(Besides, I have to trick you regular customers into thinking you have never seen my table before...am I right?)
I am participating and interesting craft show in October in which we are confined to a limited amount of space, specifically a suitcase worth of space.  It took me a while but after a weekend visit to my parents and a DEMAND to go antiquing I found the perfect suitcase.  However, I still needed to make it MINE.  Knowing that I had both craft shows aaaand Comic Con's coming up I decided to make it versatile enough to work with both.  The solution?  I piece of cardboard with two different fabric pieces on it.  I still want to put some bunting on it, but in the mean time I am pretty happy with how it looks.

blank suitcase...not bad...but it could be more interesting.

MONSTER lining!!!

Comic Con lining!!

I am picturing some nice red bunting going along the top...but in the mean time....I can't wait to fill it with monkeys.  (or this weekend nerdy toys....)
