On the 7th Day of December my true love gave to me....

....NOTHING!

Well...let me rephrase that....it wasn't so much my true love, but more so Canada Post.  It was supposed to deliver some safety eyes for my monkeys LAST week and has failed to do so.  Now I have a pile of sockmonkeys with no faces sitting on my table.  In it are monkeys for my craft show tomorrow, commissions and an over due craft swap.

Grr.

Argh.

Why does no where in Ottawa carry Safety Eyes again?

On the 5th Day of December my true love gave to me....

....a blatant advertisement for my upcoming craft show....come on...it's my last one of the season and your last chance to grab a Christmas monkey!!!

Tis the Season....

At this time of year we are all thinking of the holidays and I am no different.  And to honour this season ....I am going to steal.  That's right....STEAL an idea that my friend does each year on his blog.  It is the countdown to Christmas...a bloggy advent calender if you will.
Since I am starting this late I guess mine is one of those discount Advent Calenders that are lying in a bin a couple days after December has started.....

What ever...I will back track....

And so here goes...

DECEMBER 1st

CHRISTMAS SPECIALS....or more importantly MY Christmas Special.

That's right...I do have a Day Job.  And this year a lot of my Day Job was about Christmas....and Christmas Crabs...and Reindeer....and Dolphins.....
December 1st marked the Treehouse premiere of Cat in the Hat knows a lot about Christmas.

If you missed it, it is probably okay since I believe they have aired it about 10 times already.

(spoiler alert...Fish never wears a beard....)

DECEMBER 2ND

Two little buddies.

DECEMBER 3rd

Gnomie

DECEMBER 4th

Keychains.
Alas, I need someone to go back to NZ for me and get more
These are all gone!

Onesies, Twosies....

As I said before, every year I try and add something new to my table during the Holiday Season.  Some become popular, (like the elephants), and some, once sold out are gone...(like the necklaces)
This year it was silk screening.  I went with a simple design for my first try, and I am quite happy.
I think this summer I will try and complicate it a little more by adding a couple extra colours to a new monkey design.....This means that once this design is sold out, there will be no more.

(I gotta keep it fresh yo.....)

I am very happy to say that I have been sent a couple of action shots of these being worn....

I can't handle these super models...they are so cute....and they WILL get out of bed for less the $10 000/day.

This Past Weekend....

This past weekend I had the privilege of being in not one, but TWO very successful craft shows.

First up was Churchill Alternative - a school that is dear to my heart as most of my Scouts went here...
That being said,  I have never been to a craft show where this happened....

While the Emperor and Darth just walked by my table, I was able to get Mr. Trooper to stop and examine the goods...

Am I allowed to say that my toys are "As Seen on Star Wars" now?

Weirdest Part?  This wasn't even at a Comic Con....just a School Fundraiser.

On Sunday I went to an AMAZING Craft show.  Who knew how successful and evening show would be?  I really didn't have any idea and wow, was I pleasantly surprised!  My only wish was that I had more monkeys to sell!!!  Churchill had cleaned me out and despite hiring my husband to stuff monkeys, I didn't get as many as I would have liked.  As it was an evening Show it meant that they sold alcohol.  And Wine + Craft Lovers = Lots of Sales!  I must admit, the smell of the Cider was pretty fantastic...and my mouth spent most of it's time watering.

So Fat Goose....you are one of my new favourite Craft Shows....I can't wait till next year!

(After this year I had sworn that I would only do one show a weekend....but these two might have to be the exception...)

Alright Kingston...

On Sunday it is your turn.....!!!!  I am excited for this show....I haven't been to Kingston since I was about 10!

Wait...More craft shows?

HECK YEA!!!

And I am sewing like mad for all of you.  This past weekend I sold out of all my Christmas Tree decorations and so tonight I spent a Pathfinder Meeting sewing up a storm!

Ren says he misses me.

I miss him too.  But her certainly was lovely when he helped me stuff monkeys one day!

Good on him.

Anyways, why I am I doing all this?  Because this weekend I have TWO more craft shows...in TWO DIFFERENT CITIES!!!  I know...crazy.... But at least my friend is travelling with me on the one where I leave Ottawa.  This way I am sure the travel will not be as long!

SO....This Saturday is a School Sale.  Although I don't have any kids at this school, I feel like because all my Scouts went there, it is like it is mine.

Stay tuned for Sunday's show!!!

No rest for the Wicked...

That's right...I not only have one craft show this weekend...I have TWO!!!!  (This of course means that you really have no excuse if you are in Ottawa NOT to come.

First up is Saturday....THE SUBURBAN CRAFT SHOW
(I have actually never done this one....but I hope it is good!)

Then on Sunday we have the Sandy Hill One and Only...
Now this one I have been to....and trust me...you want to go to this one...if only to eat.  And I don't mean chips and dip...I mean...I will fight you for those Samosas!!!

Looking for me?  Well of course you are.....I am at table 31!!

Warm Fuzzies and crafting Parties!

This past weekend I had my first ever craft show in Barrie.  I am originally FROM Barrie and have wanted to show there for a while.  Sure I wanted to sell lots of stuff but more then that I wanted to see people I hadn't seen in the....um....2 (?) years since I graduated high school.  Okay...it is 2 plus a few more....but I digress...
This craft show was different then what I am used to, but I still did very well.  In fact I could almost say that I did TOO well as I am down to 4 little monkeys left.

I guess that would make it the second worse problem.....the first being not selling at all.

I had lots of visitors from the past, many of them I hadn't seen since highschool  (again...only a few years back)

I must admit I felt all warm and fuzzy when someone who had lived just up the street stopped by to pick up a monkey (or two).  It took a moment to recognize him I admit but later he told me that his wife had found me on line and pointed me out to him.  Knowing that I have a not so common name, he put two and two together and there we go!  A brave guy....not many men I know go to craft shows on their own and live to tell about it!.  So thank you B for making my morning!

I received my FIRST EVER fan art!  My friend from high school brought her family and her daughter immediately thrust a piece of paper in my hand.  I know that technically this is the back, but my Vanity is winning out and I want to show this side because it says how much I rock....

She and her brother were spoiled by her parents and they each went home with a couple of my dudes.  N sent me pictures of Miss G's new friend Violet not only MEETING SANTA but also snuggling down for a sleep later in the night!

TOTALLY love that...it makes me feel a warm and fuzzy inside.

Like I said, I did very well at the show and instead of getting to go home and relax...I went home to STUFF.  Actually I MAY have sweet talked some suckers....er...I mean...friends into helping fill some monkeys with guts so I could concentrate on the sewing part.

Thank you ladies...you certainly helped save me some time!

I am now down to the last 4 monkeys, only a couple painted creatures and limited little monsters.  This will mean a very interesting waiting in line for Twilight ...oh well...free advertising right?

Thank you to everyone who came out to say hello..you really meant a lot to me for doing so...and I Hope you all enjoy your new friends!!!
