Why Run when you can Craft?

I know that this weekend in Ottawa is Race Weekend - the weekend in which all those uber healthy people run all over the city.  

NOT A RUNNER?  No worries...head out to Monto Park (on Elgin by Jack Percel) and buy monkeys!  

They can do the running for you.

Friday morning I was at work and suddenly I felt like someone was hitting my wall from the other side.  I actually went and confronted my co worker asking him what the heck he was doing.

He wasn't doing anything save sitting at his computer reading emails.

Turned out...there was actually an earthquake in our neighbouring province of Quebec.

Obviously it didn't take long for the social media to talk all about it (me included)

Our local radio station posted this picture of them hiding under their desk from said earthquake clutching one of my monkeys!!!

It's nice to know he was there to take care of them.

1 Day till Comic Con!

Ren and I spent the evening setting up our shared table...(eating supper seems over rated these days)

Do you have your tickets?  I don't think that they are sold out, so if you have even a little bit of geek in you I dare you to come by.

Can't find me?  How about a handy dandy map?

(I know...this year we can't sit and stare at the celebs...but you DO have to walk by us when you want food!)

2 Days till Comic Con.

Actually, we do infact set up for the Con tomorrow after work....eeeee!

But never mind all that...lets meet some more nerdy monkeys shall we?

Now I never actually played Super Mario Brothers.  My brother was more of a Sega man.  Ask me about Street Fighter or Sonic the Hedgehog and I can share in the conversation.  Mario Brothers?  I got nothing.  However, that doesn't mean that I don't know how important Mario and Mario's world are to fellow nerds.  So when I saw these socks, I knew that I needed them for Comic Con.

That is correct...there are more designs then just this one.  

Since my husband Ren and I are sharing a table, it only seems natural that we do some sort of combo piece.

Here we have Jayne of Firefly fame.  Now although Adam Baldwin isn't coming this year there are plenty of Firefly people that are coming to the OCC.   But c'mon....Jaybe has the cool orange hat.
